Water notices are issued when there is a problem or disruption affecting the water supply. Water notices remain in place until the water supply is fully operational again.
This page shows current water notices and updates, as well as helpful information on how to use water, when a notice is in place. The map below shows our drinking water schemes.

Current water notices
UPDATE 1 September - 3pm
The Conserve Water Notice for the Hororātā Water Supply has now been lifted.
Water supply to properties served by the Harper Hills Reservoir has now been restored.
The airlock in the network cleared overnight, with flows from the reservoir returning to normal levels and continuing to increase as the network recharges.
If you continue to experience any issues with your water supply, please contact us on 0800 735 H2O (426) so we can investigate.
Thank you to everyone for conserving water on their properties while this notice was in place.
______
UPDATE 31 August - 5pm
Our water treatment plant is back in operation, reservoirs are refilling, with water being released into the network. Normal water supply has now been restored for most properties on the Hororātā scheme.
A Conserve Water Notice remains in place, and residents are asked to continue using water carefully.
Some properties supplied by the Harper Hills Reservoir are currently without water due to an airlock in the network. Crews are on site working to restore supply as quickly as possible.
A water tanker is available at Glenroy Community Hall carpark, 42 Windwhistle Road for affected residents. Please bring clean containers to collect drinking water.
If you are outside the affected area and experiencing water supply issues, call 0800 735 H2O (426).

UPDATE 30 August 2026 - 5pm
The Conserve Water Notice for the Acheron Water Supply has now been lifted. Thank you to everyone who has conserved water on their properties while this notice has been in place.
______
UPDATE 29 August 2026 - 10.15am
The Conserve Water Notice remains in place for the Hororātā water supply following recent heavy rainfall, which has affected the quality of the source water.
While conditions have improved, source water quality has not yet recovered sufficiently for the Hororātā water treatment plant to consistently produce compliant drinking water. As a result, reservoir levels are running low.
We ask all residents on the supply to avoid non-essential water use and continue conserving water wherever possible to help maintain supply across the network while the notice remains in place.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support.
