Water is essential to our communities, our environment and our future.
Selwyn Water is developing its 10-year Water Services Strategy to guide how we provide safe, reliable and affordable drinking water and wastewater services.
Our district continues to grow, and our infrastructure needs ongoing maintenance, renewal and investment. The Strategy will set out how we meet these needs, protect public health and the environment, and maintain affordability for our communities.
What will guide the Strategy
Our planning will be guided by the following principles:
- Protect public health and the environment.
- Deliver safe and reliable water services.
- Maintain affordability while investing in essential infrastructure.
- Plan for growth and ensure its costs are fairly allocated.
- Be transparent about costs, charges and decisions.
- Take a long-term view, considering current and future generations.
Tell us what matters to you
As we develop priorities and options, we want to understand what matters most to our communities.
Your feedback will help us understand your priorities and concerns, and inform the choices we bring back for discussion.
This is an early opportunity to share your views. We will provide more detailed information about proposed investment, service levels and charges when we formally consult on the Strategy in 2027.
